Halloween Week

I TOOK THIS PHOTO while standing in my underwear out on my Loft’s upper porch after I had just awakened. It was a little after 6 AM on October 27th, and I was eager to capture this haunting image of our moon on my iPhone.
The moon's bright light came into view through my triangular bedroom window. Clouds and tree limbs partially obscured the view but certainly added to the creative effect.
What a nice way to start the day, energized by such a magical event, especially as we move into the festive weekend.
I’m looking forward to spending Saturday night with my girlfriend, helping hand out candy to the kids in her driveway in downtown Traverse City. I’ll have some wine and hobnob with our little visitors in my costume. We wear costumes that mimic monks’ robes - not too scary by design.
Nancy ordered a very scary battery-operated graveyard skeleton that stands 6 feet 2, that looks like it just crawled out of its tomb, and makes a deathly racket for 15 seconds when you touch its hands or make a passing noise. The kids will love it - I hope.
My entire goal is to get through the evening of Trick or Treat by eating only one mini-Snickers candy. Thank goodness it is the original recipe and not the peanut butter square ones. What in the hell was Mars Candy thinking?
Yes, I have been sampling the candy. I got that habit from my mother.
Happy Halloween your way.
