WE WOKE TO THREE INCHES of snow Friday morning in greater Traverse City. Reports of 25 inches inland around Gaylord were prevalent in the media. The Lions lucked out with a rather uninspired performance Thursday, barely beating the Bears at Ford Field on Thanksgiving Day.
Still, a win is a win.
Chicago’s coach was fired a few hours after the game. We think it is because of the team's performance during the last minute of play rather than for picking the halftime entertainment which some groups are claiming.
Life moves on.
I spearheaded the menu and recipes for our Thanksgiving meal at Nancy’s. After all the work, the fun began with the leftovers over the weekend. After a four-day break to enjoy my recipes, I will return to my calorie-restricting diet on Monday. My egg, mushroom, and broccoli cheese casserole was the clear favorite, but the cranberry orange relish and my honey onions were right up there. Such a nice celebration and joined by the few days that followed.
As I write this essay, I’m tuning into the OSU vs. Michigan football game. Predictions have it a blowout in Columbus.
I completed my Christmas shopping over the weekend ordering gift baskets for Rob and Dave’s families. They shipped them Sunday and have a tracking app that kind of reminds me of Santa’s sleigh delivering gifts in my youth. I ordered Nancy a gift certificate for a massage.
Oh, Michigan 13 and OSU 10.
Don’t you love surprises?!
